A.1 Using the SATA extension module Your motherboard package comes with a 2-port Serial ATA extension module that allows you to externally connect two Serial ATA hard drives. A.1.1 Installing the 2-port SATA extension module To install your 2-port Serial ATA extension module: 1. Select an available expansion card slot on the rear panel of your chassis. 2. Place the 2-port Serial ATA extension module on the available slot and secure it with a screw. 3. Locate the Serial ATA connectors on your motherboard. Connect a 4-pin ATX power plug to the SATA extension module power connector labeled P W R _ C O N 1. 10. You can now connect two SATA hard disks to the rear panel of your chassis. To install your 2-port Serial ATA extension module:
1.
Select an available expansion card slot on the rear panel of your
chassis.
2.
Place the 2-port Serial ATA extension module on the available slot and
secure it with a screw.
3.
Locate the Serial ATA connectors on your motherboard.
4.
Select any two (2) SATA connectors on your motherboard.
5.
Connect one end of the first SATA signal cable to one of the selected
SATA connectors.
6.
Connect the other end of the SATA signal cable to the SATA
connector on the extension module labeled SATA_CON3
