5.4.4 Creating a RAID 1 (Mirror) set You can create two types of mirrored configuration using the LSI Logic Configuration Utility: Integrated Mirroring (IM) or RAID 1-E. See section 5.1.1 for RAID definitions. To create an RAID 1 set: 1. From the R A I D P r o p e r t i e s screen, select the drives that you want to include in the RAID 1 set. For Integrated Mirrored array, select first the drive with data that you want to retain. This drive will become the primary copy of the array. • Integrated Mirrored array - Select a minimum of two drives • RAID-1E - Select a minimum of four drives The A r r a y label on top of the screen changes to IM or 1E depending on the number of selected hard disk drives.
