Wireless LAN channels The IEEE 802.11b/g standard for wireless LAN allocated the 2.4 GHz frequency band into 13 overlapping operating channels. Each channel corresponds to a different set of frequencies. The table below shows the center frequencies of each channel. Channel 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Center Channel Frequency 2.412 GHz 8 2.417 GHz 9 2.422 GHz 10 2.427 GHz 11 2.432 GHz 12 2.437 GHz 13 2.442 GHz 14 Center Frequency 2.447 GHz 2.452 GHz 2.457 GHz 2.462 GHz 2.467 GHz 2.472 GHz 2.484 GHz If several Wi-Fi devices are operating in the same vicinity, the distance between the center frequencies of channels used must be at least 25MHz to avoid interference.
