3.4.2 Storage Configuration The Storage Configuration menu allows you to configure your storage devices. Select an item then press to display the submenu. Main Storage Configuration SATA Configuration Configure SATA as BIOS SETUP UTILITY [Enhanced] [IDE] Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled] IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35] SATA Configuration [Enhanced] Configuration options: [Disabled] [Compatible] [Enhanced] Configure SATA as [IDE] Allows you to set the SATA configuration. [IDE] Set to [IDE] when you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as Parallel ATA physical storage devices. [AHCI] Set to [AHCI] when you want the SATA hard disk drives to use the AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface). The AHCI allows the onboard storage driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features that increases storage performance on random workloads by allowing the drive to internally optimize the order of commands. Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled] Disables or enables device write protection. This will be effective only if the device is accessed through BIOS. Configuration option: [Disabled] [Enabled] IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35] Selects the time out value for detecting ATA/ATAPI devices.
