7. M.2 slot The M.2 slot allows you to install M.2 SSD modules. Chapter 1 • M.2_1 slot supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA mode Key M design and type 2242 / 2260/ 2280 / 22110 storage devices. • M.2_2 and M.2_3 slots support PCIe 3.0 x4 mode Key M design and type 2242 / 2260 / 2280 storage devices. • M.2_1 shares bandwidth with PCIEX1. When PCIEX1 is occuppied, M.2_1 runs x2 or SATA mode (when M.2_1 runs SATA mode, SATA6G_2 will be disabled). • M.2_2 shares bandwidth with SATA6G_56. When M.2_2 runs x4 mode, SATA6G_56 will be disabled. M.2_2 runs x2 mode by default. • M.2_3 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16_3. When PCIEX16_3 runs x4 mode, M.2_3 will be disabled. When M.2_3 and PCIEX16_3 are both occupied, M.2_3 runs x2 mode, PCIEX16_3 runs X1 mode. • When a 22110 M.2 SSD is installed in M.2_1 slot, M.2_2 slot will be limited to a 2242 M.2 SSD. • M.2 slots supports IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology). M.2 slot
The M.2 slot allows you to install M.2 SSD modules.
M.2_1 slot supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA mode Key M design and type 2242 /
2260/ 2280 / 22110 storage devices.
M.2_2 and M.2_3 slots support PCIe 3.0 x4 mode Key M design and type 2242 /
2260 / 2280 storage devices.
M.2_1 shares bandwidth with PCIEX1. When PCIEX1 is occuppied, M.2_1 runs x2 or
SATA mode (when M.2_1 runs SATA mode, SATA6G_2 will be disabled).
M.2_2 shares bandwidth with SATA6G_56. When M.2_2 runs x4 mode, SATA6G_56
will be disabled. M.2_2 runs x2 mode by default.
M.2_3 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16_3. When PCIEX16_3 runs x4 mode, M.2_3
will be disabled. When M.2_3 and PCIEX16_3 are both occupied, M.2_3 runs x2
mode, PCIEX16_3 runs X1 mode.
When a 22110 M.2 SSD is installed in M.2_1 slot, M.2_2 slot will be limited to a 2242
M.2 SSD.
M.2 slots supports IRST (Intel
