Al..... XSIGHT TOUCH RF EXTENDER INSTALLATION GUIDE ARRE433B tAcouslic'Zesearrh, Congratulations on your purchase of the Xsight RF Extender. Now you're ready to unlock your Xsight Touch remote's ability to control hidden components or components in another room. Your Xsight Touch remote (sold separately) sends two signals when you press a key: an infrared signal (IR) for the devices you can see and a radio frequency signal (RF) for the devices you can't. Unlike IR signals, RF signals can travel through barriers like walls, floors, and ceilings. This Xsight RF Extender receives those RF signals and translates them to IR signals the hidden devices can understand. In other words, with your Xsight Touch and this Xsight RF Extender, you can put your devices in another room (up to 100ft away) or in a closed cabinet and control them as if you could see them. UNPACKING First of all, make sure you have the following pieces in your package: An Xsight RF Extender A power adapter 6 infrared (lR) LED extender cables INSTALLING THE RF EXTENDER 1. Put the RF Extender down close to the devices you want to control. 2. Find an infrared (IR) LED extender cable for each of the devices you want to control. For example, if you have a DVD player and a satellite receiver in a cabinet, get an IR extender cable for each of these devices. Plug one end of each IR extender cable into the back of the RF Extender. 3. Place the other end of each of the IR extender cables in clear view of the device's IR window-this is where the device receives commands from your remote control. Note: Check the owner's manual that came with your device to see exactly where the IR window is on each device if you're not sure. You can also place the wand about 2" away from the device's front panel, facing the device. 4. Plug one end of the power adapter into the Xsight RF Extender back panel. Plug the other end into a wall outlet or surge protector. Important: This power adapter should be plugged in so that it stays vertical or lays flat. Notes This RF Extender does not operate devices using an RF signal only. Remember, if the devices you operate using the RF Extender are hidden or in a different room, you won't see the device respond to remote commands unless the device is connected to a monitor you can see or hear. This product will not operate specific devices using IR protocol 2-way-TV IRDA waveform, XMP1.4 (works with XMP1.0) or Multi Media Protocol RCMM. If you are unsure of the details of the IR protocol used by your devices, please refer to the manual or contact the manufacturer of the devices.
