NEW LONG GUIDED EXTRACTORS The newly designed extractors are precisely guided along the entire length of the barrel monobloc to ensure impeccable extraction and ejection of the shells. The large contact surface area of the extractors on the rim of the shell improves its retention and reliability. SPECIAL `ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY' EXTRACTION SYSTEM In the new Perennia over-and-under, Beretta introduces a new patented extraction system that allows the selection between automatic ejection or simple mechanical extraction of the fired shells. The latter, "environmentally friendly" mode, allows the easy removal of the shells from their chambers. The selector is easily accessed by simply removing the fore-end. NEW BERETTA OPTIMACHOKE° HP CHOKE TUBES The new flush Beretta Optimachoke® HP (High Performance) choke tubes, with lengthened taper, feature an internal profile to reduce friction, improve the density and distribution of the pattern. Manufactured from high strength steel and finished in a nickel-alloy coating, the Beretta Optimachoke HP chokes guarantee significant corrosion resistance and ability to withstand the rigors of steel shot. NEW FORE-END AND FORE-END IRON The fore-end, streamlined and elegant, features new ergonomic shapes that guarantee its optimal grip. The new fore-end iron boasts a new patented internal mechaihism that maintains% constant barrel-receiver-iron fit. This system further contributes to improve the strength of the locking system and the service life of the gun. The new fore-end lever, with its elongated shape, ensures the smooth release of the fore-end from the barrels. KICK-OFF® RECOIL REDUCTION MECHANISM The new patented Kick-Off° mechanism (on select models only) was conceived to significantly reduce the felt recoil to the shooter's shoulder. Thanks to KickOff, the recoil energy is gradually dissipated through two oil hydraulic dampeners integrated into the design, with obvious better comfort to the shooter. At the same time, the vibrations and the muzzle rise are decreased, and the durability, reliability and handling of the firearm are enhanced. 45
