English Maintaining Your Lifestyle® 20 Music System Taking care of your Lifestyle® 20 music system The only maintenance needed is cleaning the system and your compact discs, and replacing remote control batteries. For information on replacing the remote control batteries see "Set up the remote control" on page 10. Handling CDs Handle discs by their edges to prevent fingerprints and scratches (Figure 29). To remove stains or fingerprints from the surface of a disc, use a lint-free, soft, dry cloth. Wipe in straight movements from the center of the disc to the outside (Figure 30). Do not use any chemical products; they can damage the disc. Do not write on, or attach labels to the surface of the disc. To minimize exposure to dust and dirt, replace discs in their cases after use. Store each disc in its case, out of direct sunlight, high temperatures, and humidity. Figure 29 Handling a CD Cleaning the music center Use only a soft, dry cloth to clean the outside of the Lifestyle® music center. Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning solutions containing alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. Do not allow liquids to spill into any openings. Do not use any sprays near the system. Cleaning the speakers Clean the surface of your speakers with a soft, damp cloth. You can use an ammonia-free window cleaner on a soft cloth to maintain the finish. Do not use any sprays near the system. Do not use any solvents, chemicals, or cleaning solutions containing alcohol, ammonia, or abrasives. Do not allow liquids to spill into any openings. The speaker grille panels require no special care, although you may vacuum them carefully, if necessary. Figure 30 Cleaning a CD 24 October 29, 2001 AM178934_09_V.pdf
