Changing needle position 3 When sewing a straight stitch along the left edge of the f abric, you can press the stitch width arro ws to mo ve the needle position from left to r ight. This allows you to adjust the distance of the stitches from the edge of the f abric, while still allowing y ou to r un the edge of the f oot along the edge of the f abric.
