Printing Problems ■ The machine beeps while printing. The machine may have a paper jam. • Clear the paper jam (1 p. 13-3). ■ Nothing prints. The power cord may not be plugged in securely. • Check that the power cord is plugged securely into the machine and into the wall outlet (1 p. 2-9). If the machine is plugged into a power strip, make sure the power strip is plugged in and turned on. You may not have removed the plastic seal from the cartridge. • Make sure you install the cartridge properly (1 p. 2-13). The cartridge may need to be replaced. • Replace the cartridge (1 p. 12-7). ■ Printout does not match the print media size. The print media may not be loaded correctly. • Make sure the print media is loaded correctly in the multi-purpose tray (1 p. 5-4). ■ Printout is skewed. The print media may not be loaded correctly. • Make sure the print media is loaded correctly in the multi-purpose tray (1 p. 5-4). • Make sure the paper delivery slots are clear. ■ Print media jams occur. You may not be using the correct paper delivery slot. • Select the correct paper delivery slot (1 p. 5-7). ■ Printout is not clear. You may not be using the correct print media type. • Make sure you load print media that meets the requirements for the machine (1 p. 5-2). You may be printing on the wrong side of the paper. • Some papers have a "right" side for printing. If the print quality is not as clear as you would like it to be, try turning the paper over and printing on the other side. ■ Printout has vertical white streaks.
