NOTES • Photo quality will be higher when photos are recorded in mode or in mode during record pause. • Photos will be recorded on the memory selected for recording photos. • Photos cannot be recorded simultaneously while the digital zoom or a digital effect is activated. • Photos cannot be recorded simultaneously at [K 3264x1840] size while the digital tele-converter (0 80) is activated. • If while recording video, photos are recorded simultaneously at [K 3264x1840] size, you may notice a very brief stop during the play- back of the video at the point where j was pressed. Light Metering Mode The camcorder measures the light reflected from the subject in order to calculate the optimal exposure settings. Depending on the subject, you may want to change the way the light is measured and evaluated. Operating modes: POINTS TO CHECK • Select a recording program other than the Special Scene recording pro- grams. [FUNC.] 8 [Metering Mode] 8 Desired option 8 [a] Options ( Default value) [Q Evaluative] Appropriate for standard shooting conditions, including backlit scenes. The camcorder divides the picture into several areas and the light is measured in all of them to achieve the optimal exposure for the subject. [S Center-Wt. Avg.] Averages the light metered from the entire screen, giving more weight to the subject in the center. [R Spot] Meters only the area within the spot AE point frame. Use this setting to adjust the exposure to match the subject in the center of the screen. Photos 115
