Connect the Power Cord and Turn On the Machine 1 Connect the power cord into the rear socket and the wall outlet and press the [I] side of the main power switch to ON. When restarting the machine, wait at least 10 seconds before turning the main power back on. 2 FAX The machine enters standby mode. ˔ is displayed: Make sure that the left cover is closed properly. (See "Install Cartridge" on p. 4.) ˔ is displayed: Make sure that the toner cartridge is installed properly. (See "Install Cartridge" on p. 4.) ˔ is displayed: If this message is displayed after a new toner cartridge has been set in place, reset the toner cartridge after shaking it slowly five, or six times. (See "Install Cartridge" on p. 4.)

Connect the power cord into the rear socket and the wall
outlet and press the [I] side of the main power switch to
ON.
When restarting the machine, wait at least ±0 seconds
before turning the main power back on.

The machine enters standby mode.
<LEFT COVER OPEN / CLOSE COVER> is displayed:
Make sure that the left cover is closed properly.
(See “Install Cartridge” on p. 4.)
<TONER IS NOT SET / INSERT TONER> is displayed:
Make sure that the toner cartridge is installed properly.
(See “Install Cartridge” on p. 4.)
<TONER LOW / PREPARE NEW TONER> is displayed:
If this message is displayed after a new toner cartridge
has been set in place, reset the toner cartridge after
shaking it slowly five, or six times. (See “Install Cartridge”
on p. 4.)
