Appendix: Menu Options Lists [Onscreen Markers] (recording mode only): You can display 16:9 area markers, a grid, or a horizontal line at the center of the screen. Use the markers as a reference to make sure your subject is framed correctly (vertically and/or horizontally). • Movies have a 16:9 aspect ratio, so the 16:9 marker can be used as a convenient reference to check the area that will be recorded. • Using the onscreen markers will not affect the recordings. [Display Date/Time] (playback mode only): Select whether to display the recording date and time during playback. • During photo playback, both the date and time are displayed. During movie playback, only the date is displayed. [Output Onscreen Displays] (playback mode only): When set to [i On], the camcorder's onscreen displays will appear also on the screen of a TV or monitor connected to the camcorder. [LCD Brightness]: Adjusts the brightness of the LCD screen. • Changing the brightness of the LCD screen does not affect the brightness of your recordings or the brightness of the playback image on a TV. [LCD Backlight]: Sets the screen to one of three brightness levels. You can use this to make the screen brighter when recording in bright places, for example. 185
