Color calibration improves color consistency by compensating for slight differences in how color appears when printing due to individual variations or aging among the printers. Executing color calibration will print a test pattern, which will be read automatically by a sensor built in the printer. By this operation, an adjustment value reflecting the print result of the test pattern is set automatically. Important 7 • For better color consistency, execute color calibration under the same conditions of temperature and humidity each time. If you execute color calibration under various conditions of temperature and humidity, correct adjustment may not be possible. • If you execute color calibration with paper classified for common calibration, continue to use the same type of paper for better color consistency. If you execute color calibration with multiple paper types, correct adjustment may not be possible. • Before color calibration, ensure the printer is not exposed to direct sunlight or other strong sources of light. If the printer is exposed to strong sources of light, correct adjustment may not be possible. Recommend Timing for Color Calibration We recommend color calibration in the following situations. • After initial printer installation • After Printhead replacement • If colors seem different from before, despite using the same printing environment, under the same conditions • To ensure uniform colors when printing on multiple printers (however, be sure to use the same version of firmware and 865 printer driver, under the same settings) • When the Execution Guide is displayed (Specifying Execution Guide →P.868 ) Note • You can confirm information of color calibration such as the execution date and executed paper type by the following method. iPF8300S Using Color Calibration for Color Adjustment

Using Color Calibration for Color Adjustment

What is Color Calibration?

Color calibration improves color consistency by compensating for slight differences in how color appears when printing due

to individual variations or aging among the printers.

Executing color calibration will print a test pattern, which will be read automatically by a sensor built in the printer.

By this operation, an adjustment value reflecting the print result of the test pattern is set automatically.

Important

•

For better color consistency, execute color calibration under the same conditions of temperature and humidi-

ty each time.

If you execute color calibration under various conditions of temperature and humidity, correct adjustment

may not be possible.

•

If you execute color calibration with paper classified for common calibration, continue to use the same type

of paper for better color consistency.

If you execute color calibration with multiple paper types, correct adjustment may not be possible.

•

Before color calibration, ensure the printer is not exposed to direct sunlight or other strong sources of light.

If the printer is exposed to strong sources of light, correct adjustment may not be possible.

Recommend Timing for Color Calibration

We recommend color calibration in the following situations.

•

After initial printer installation

•

After Printhead replacement

•

If colors seem different from before, despite using the same printing environment, under the same conditions

•

To ensure uniform colors when printing on multiple printers (however, be sure to use the same version of firmware and

printer driver, under the same settings)

•
