GETTING READY 3. Swing the battery cover closed, and then slide it in the direction indicated by the arrow. I To remove the battery 1. Open the battery cover. 2. Pull the stopper in the direction indicated by the arrow. • This will cause the battery to come part way out of the slot. Stopper IMPORTANT! • Use only the special NP-40 rechargeable lithium ion battery to power this camera. Use of any other type of battery is not supported. The battery is not charged when you purchase the camera. You need to charge the battery before using the camera for the first time (page 31). 3.
