Issue 20 Adding an EISA fibre channel controller Description Solution With the server shut down and power removed from the server, install the EISA fibre channel controller in the server by following the procedures detailed below in the "Solution." To install the controller: 1. Run the System Configuration Utility to add the controller and configure changes to system BIOS. 2. Restart the server. 3. Start the hardware wizard by right clicking on My Computer | Properties | Hardware. 4. Select Add/Troubleshoot a Device. No devices will be found. 5. Select Add New Device from the Choose Hardware Device screen. 6. Select No, I want to select hardware from a list. 7. Select SCSI and RAID Controllers. 8. Select HP and HP Fibre Channel Host Controller (non PnP). 9. Click Next | Finish. 10.Restart the server. To load the driver: After the restart completes, the Found New Hardware wizard will display. This process resolves the device listed as Unknown Device under the Device Manager tree. This Unknown Device, the HP Fibre Channel Controller /E, requires the CPQFCALM.SYS driver. NOTE The device HP Fibre Channel Host Controller (non PnP), displayed under Device Manager with a yellow exclamation point, can now be removed from the Device Manager tree. 32
