ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Before using the appliance check that your supply voltage is the same of that shown on the rating label of the unit. INSTALLATION The appliance can be used on any horizontal surface. Do not overload the electrical circuit. Avoid using the same socket for other appliances. OPERATION AND USE 1. Make sure the appliance is off before plugging into the mains. 2. Plug the appliance, the pilot lamp will light on. 3. Turn the appliance on by placing the thermostat (C) in the Max position and the mode selector (A) in one of the following positions: 1/2. - Summer operation (fan only): turn the mode selector to the position. - Minimum power setting: turn the mode selector (A) to the "1" position. - Maximum power setting: turn the mode selector (A) to the "2" position. HOW TO TURN THE APPLIANCE OFF To turn the appliance off turn the mode selector (A) to the "●" position. Adjusting the thermostat When the room has reached the required temperature, turn the thermostat slowly the anti-clockwise direction until you hear a click. The thermostat will then keep room temperature at the selected level automatically. Frost prevention mode With the thermostat dial at minimum and the mode selector on "2", the appliance maintains room temperature at about 5°C, preventing freezing with minimal energy consumption. MAINTENANCE - Always unplug from the mains socket before cleaning. - During the season when the appliance is in use, clean the air intake and outlet grilles regularly using a vacuum cleaner. - Never use abrasive powders or solvents. CAUTION - Do not use this heater in the immediate proximity of showers, bathrubs, swimming pools, etc. - Always use the heater in an upright position. - Do not use the heater to dry your laundry. Never obstruct the intake and outtake grilles (danger of overheating). - Do not use the appliance close to walls, furniture, curtains etc. - If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorized ser- vice center or a qualified electrician in order to eliminate all risk. - Do not cover the appliance when in operation as this could cause a fire risk. - Do not use the appliance in rooms less than 4 m2 (43 square feet). The heater is fitted with a safety thermal cut-off which will switch off the heater in case of accidental overheating (eg. obstruction of air intake and outtake grilles, motor turning slowly or not at all). To reset, turn the heater off, disconnect the plug from the outlet for a few minutes, remove the cause of overheating then plug the appliance in again. Warning: in order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. 4
