Setting Up a Wireless Local Area Network The following are general requirements for setting up a WLAN: • Broadband Internet connection (such as cable or DSL) • A broadband modem • A wireless router • A wireless network adapter for each computer that you want to connect to your WLAN • A network cable with network (RJ-45) connectors To set up WLAN: Windows 8 1. Set up your wireless router. See the documentation that shipped with the wireless router. 2. Swipe from the right edge of the screen (or if you are using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen), and then click Search . 3. Click Settings. 4. Type Network and Sharing Center in the search box, and press . Click Network and Sharing Center → Set up a new connection or network → Connect to the Internet.
