Virtual Machine Guest Operating System Settings Follow these recommendations for setting a virtual machines guest operating system. ● LUN Queue Depth - For optimal virtual machine operation, configure the virtual machine guest operating system to use the default queue depth of the virtual SCSI controller. For details on adjusting the guest operating system LUN queue depth, see VMware Knowledge Article 2053145 (Large-scale workloads...). ● RDM volumes in guest operating system - Span RDM volumes, which are used by the virtual machine, across SCSI controllers to prevent a bottleneck on a single SCSI controller. ● RDM volumes in guest operating system used for Microsoft Cluster (MSCS) - ESXi hosts with visibility to RDM volumes, which are used by Microsoft Cluster (MSCS) may take a long time to start or to perform LUN rescan. Virtual Machine Guest Operating System Settings
Follow these recommendations for setting a virtual machines guest operating system.
LUN Queue Depth - For optimal virtual machine operation, configure the virtual machine guest operating system to use the

RDM volumes in guest operating system - Span RDM volumes, which are used by the virtual machine, across SCSI
controllers to prevent a bottleneck on a single SCSI controller.

which are used by Microsoft Cluster (MSCS) may take a long time to start or to perform LUN rescan.
