10. LPR Printing 10.1 Introduction LPR Printing (Line Printer Remote technology) allows users to connect to printers via TCP/IP for printing sharing. The computer with Windows 98SE/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003, Windows Vista and MAC OS 10.x Operating Systems can use the protocol to share printing in the network. Print Server can support LPR printing by default. If you install the Print Server in Windows 98SE/Me/NT, the Print Server provides a tool "Network Ports Quick Setup" that helps to add the LPR protocol to users' computer easily. Please refer to Section 3.5.1. To configure the LPR setting in Windows 2000/XP/Vista and MAC OS 10.x, please follow the procedures describe in the following sections. 123

10.1
Introduction
LPR Printing (Line Printer Remote technology) allows
users to connect to printers via TCP/IP for printing sharing.
The computer with Windows 98SE/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003,
Windows Vista and MAC OS 10.x Operating Systems can
use the protocol to share printing in the network. Print
Server can support LPR printing by default.
If you install the Print Server in Windows 98SE/Me/NT, the
Print Server provides a tool “Network Ports Quick Setup”
that helps to add the LPR protocol to users’ computer
easily. Please refer to Section 3.5.1.
To configure the LPR setting in Windows 2000/XP/Vista
and MAC OS 10.x, please follow the procedures describe
in the following sections.
