B-4 | Using EPSON Drivers and Utilities for Macintosh Checking System Requirements Make sure your Macintosh meets the requirements listed in the table below. The memory requirements are for printing a 40 × 57-inch full-page color image. Requirements may vary, depending on the size, complexity, and resolution of your images. System requirements Component Minimum Recommended Processor PowerPC 300 MHz G3 or higher processor OS System 8.5.1 System 9.0.4 recommended for best USB support Available memory 14MB (foreground printing) 128MB (total) 23MB (background printing) Hard disk 12MB free for installing the 2GB recommended software CD-ROM Double-speed CD-ROM drive Quad-speed or faster Installing the Software Before you start, turn off all virus protection programs. See your anti-virus software documentation for instructions. Then follow these steps to install your printer software: 1. Insert your printer software CD-ROM. 2. Open the Installer folder and double-click the icon. Then follow the instructions on the screen. 3. When you see the "installation complete" message, click Restart. Follow the steps in the next section to select your printer using either the serial interface or an AppleTalk® connection. B-4
