1-2 Choosing a Place for the Printer Avoid locations in direct sunlight or subject to excessive heat (such as near heaters). Avoid using or storing the printer in places subject to excessive moisture. Do not use or store the printer in a dusty or dirty area. Choose a stable, horizontal surface for the printer. Avoid places subject to intense vibration or shock. Make sure there is enough space around the printer so that it can be used easily. 1-3 Removing the Transportation Damper The transportation damper must be removed before turning on the printer. Open the printer cover and remove the damper as shown below. 2
