REAR-PANEL CONNECTIONS 32 Coaxial Digital Audio Inputs: Connect the coax digital audio output from a DVD player, HDTV receiver, the S/P-DIF output of a compatible computer sound card playing MP3 files or streams, LD player or CD player to these jacks. The signal may be a Dolby Digital signal, DTS signal or a standard PCM digital source. Do not connect the RF digital output of an LD player to these jacks. 33 Video 1 Inputs: Connect the analog audio and composite or S-Video PLAY/OUT jacks of a VCR or other video source to these jacks. 34 8-Channel Direct Inputs: These jacks are used for connection to source devices such as DVD-Audio or SACD players with discrete analog outputs. Depending on the source device in use, all eight jacks may be used, though in many cases only connections to the front left/right, center, surround left/right and LFE (subwoofer input) jacks will be used for standard 5.1 audio signals. 35 RS-232 Port: This jack is used to enable the AVR 7200 to be controlled by an external computer or programmable remote system that uses RS-232 commands. Due to the complexity of RS-232 connections, we recommend that they be made only by a trained and qualified custom installer. See page 36 for more information on the RS-232 control port. 10 REAR-PANEL CONNECTIONS
