If the heat pump is not able to maintain the desired temperature, depending on the time of the year, it may be necessary to adjust your pool filtration systems hours of operation (increase run time). 8. If the heat pump does not appear to be heating, check the air temperature being blown out of the top. If the air coming out is cooler than the ambient air, the unit is functioning. If the two temperatures are the same, there may be a problem. Note: Use a solar blanket / cover on the surface of the pool in order to minimize heat loss.
