This service notes document describes the modifications and known issues for Patch 19. This is a recommended patch and is only intended to be applied to HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2.422 (MU2). Installation of this patch affect following packages: • tpd-prerevert • tpd-update • tpd-evt 1.1 Supported Platforms The HP 3PAR Configuration Matrix for HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 contains information about supported hardware and software platforms. For additional information, see the Single Point of Connectivity Knowledge for HP Storage Products (SPOCK) website at http://www.hp.com/storage/spock. 1.2 Components Component HP 3PAR OS CLI Client System Manager TPD Kernel Patch Version 3.1.2.422 (MU2) 3.1.2.278 3.1.2.492 (P19) 3.1.2.492 (P19) NOTE: Applying this patch to the HP 3PAR OS might restart the affected OS components. With these restarts, events and alerts might be generated and this is an expected behavior. The system continues to serve data, but existing CLI or IMC sessions might be interrupted. NOTE: HP recommends installing patches in the same sequence as they are released, unless instructed otherwise. 1.3 HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU2 Patch 19 • Patch Name: HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU2 Patch 19 • Prerequisite: Prior to installation of HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2 MU2 Patch 19, the OS must be at 3.1.2.422 (MU2), and the service processor code must be at SP-4.1.0.GA-97 • This patch applies to: HP 3PAR OS 3.1.2.422 (MU2) • Obsoletes: None 1.4 Modifications to the HP 3PAR OS This release addresses the following item: Issue ID 91760 Item Description Issuing a setvvset -name Issuing a setvvset -name command to modify the name of an existing command might stop the event virtual volume set might terminate the em_filter process. The em_filter process logging mechanism. is responsible for event logging and alert processing. The em_filter process can not restart till the individual node on which the setvvset -name command was issued is rebooted. 1.1 Supported Platforms 3
