Multiple-path support A Sun Solaris system with EVA4000/6000/8000 storage requires the installation of either Sun Solaris MPxIO or VERITAS VxVM/DMP multipathing software on each host to achieve high-availability, multipath capability. Sun Solaris MPxIO and VERITAS VxVM/DMP multipathing software requires two Fibre Channel adapters (FCAs) connected to both controllers. Single-path support Solaris servers require VERITAS Volume Manager to support single-path mode. NOTE: Do not use single-path mode in mission-critical environments.
