Connect to the Internet from your home » To access the New Connection Wizard, select Start > Help and Support. ✎ If you are prompted within the wizard to choose between enabling or disabling the Windows Firewall, choose to enable the firewall. Choosing the type of Internet connection You can choose one or more of the following methods to connect to the Internet: ■ Broadband service-High-speed Internet access is provided by an ISP through one of the following services: ❏ Cable modem ❏ Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) ❏ Satellite ❏ Other services Broadband service may require additional hardware and/or software provided by the ISP. ■ WLAN-Internet connection through a WLAN requires broadband wired service with an ISP as well as a wireless router (purchased separately). To learn about setting up wireless access, see the HP Web site at http://www.hp.com/go/techcenter/wireless (English only). ■ Dial-up-You can access the Internet by dialing in to a service provider using a modem cable connected to the RJ-11 (modem) jack.
