Back to TOC Scanning negatives To scan 35 mm negatives, use the XPA light source, the positioning plate, and the negative holder. When scanning fewer than four negative frames, you also need the negative light shield. 1 With the XPA light source connected to its port on the scanner, restart the software. 2 Place the positioning plate on the scanner glass so the arrow is in the upper right-hand corner. Push the positioning plate toward the top right corner. Using accessories 81 3 Slide the strip of negatives into the negative holder. If the negative strip curves, the curve should be facing out toward you. CAUTION Negatives are easily damaged. Touch them only on the edges. 4 If you are scanning a strip of negatives with fewer than four frames, insert the negative light shield after the negative strip. See the icon on the negative holder for assistance.
