Before you begin
Observe the following precautions when replacing an I/O module.
CAUTION:
You have only seven minutes to perform the replacement
procedure
. Removing an I/O module significantly changes the
air flow within the enclosure. Both I/O modules must be installed
for the enclosure to cool properly. If an I/O module fails, leave
it in place in the enclosure until a new module is available to
install. The enclosure could shut down due to overheating unless
the I/O module is replaced within seven minutes of removal in
an active enclosure.
Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge. Use proper
anti-static protection. Refer to the documentation that shipped
with your system for additional information.
NOTE:
Port-colored (purple) latches on components like the I/O module
means the component is hot-swappable. This module can be
removed and replaced without having to power the system
down.
There are two I/O modules on the rear of the disk enclosure.
