USB connection This product supports a USB 2.0 connection. You must use an A-to-B type USB cable that is no longer than 2 meters (6.56 feet) Network configuration You might need to configure certain network parameters on the product. You can configure these parameters from the control panel, the embedded Web server, or for most networks, from the HP Web Jetadmin software. For a complete list of supported networks and for instructions on configuring network parameters from software, see the HP Jetdirect Embedded Print Server Administrator's Guide. The guide comes with products in which an HP Jetdirect embedded print server is installed. Supported network protocols The product supports the TCP/IP network protocol, the most widely used and accepted networking protocol. Many networking services utilize this protocol. The following tables list the supported networking services and protocols. Table 5-1 Printing Service name Description port9100 (Direct Mode) Printing service Line printer daemon (LPD) Printing service Advanced LPD (custom LPD queues) Protocol and programs associated with line-printer spooling services installed on TCP/IP systems. FTP TCP/IP utility for transferring data between systems. WS Print Uses the Microsoft Web Services for Devices (WSD) Print services on the HP Jetdirect print server. WS Discovery Allows Microsoft WS discovery protocols on the HP Jetdirect print server.
