Extending the IF-MIB Send documentation comments to [email protected] Table 21 ENTITY-MIB Extensions (continued) MIB CISCO-ENTITY-EXT-MIB CISCO-ENTITY-FRU-CONTROL-MIB CISCO-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB CISCO-FC-ROUTE-MIB CISCO-IMAGE-UPGRADE-MIB CISCO-VIRTUAL-NW-IF-MIB Description Extends the entityPhysicalTable for modules with processors. For each of these modules, this MIB provides memory statistics and LED information. Manages field-replaceable units, such as power supplies, fans, and modules. Provides sensor data for environmental monitors such as temperature gauges. Provides ingress traffic counters for Fibre Channel, linked to entPhysicalIndex. Provides module image management based on entPhysicalIndex. Maps VSAN ID to FC ID and ifIndex, based on entPhysicalIndex. Extending the IF-MIB The IF-MIB provides basic management status and control of interfaces and sublayers within a network device. Multiple standard and Cisco-specific MIBs use ifIndex from the IF-MIB to extend management for specific interface types. Cisco MIBs also enhances the two interface notifications, linkUp and linkDown, from the IF-MIB to provide a clearer indication of the reason for these notifications. Cisco MIBs add up to two varbinds to linkUp and linkDown as shown in Table 22. Table 22 Varbinds Added to IF-MIB Notifications Notification linkUp linkDown Varbinds Added fcIfOperMode1, ifDescr fcIfOperStatusCause1, ifDescr 1. Added for Fibre Channel interfaces only. Refer to the CISCO-FC-FE-MIB. Refer to the Cisco MDS 9000 Family CLI Configuration Guide for details about enabling link notifications that use these additional varbinds.
