Also as part of the FabricWare 2.1(3) image updates provided by HP, the Cisco MDS 9020 Fabric Switch Release Notes for Cisco MDS 9020 FabricWare Release 2.1(3) have been included. For a complete list and detailed description of features included in the SAN-OS 3.3(4) release or the FabricWare 2.1(3) release, refer to the Cisco release notes as appropriate. For information about NX-OS and mixing NX-OS, SAN-OS, and FabricWare in the same fabric, refer to the hp StorageWorks Cseries Fabric Switches for NX-OS Release Notes. Software, FabricWare, and SAN-OS Updates Customers can now receive updates faster and more efficiently via electronic download by using HP Software Update Manager (SUM). This is a feature available as part of the support agreement available online within the HP IT Resource Center (ITRC) at http://www.itrc.hp.com/. SUM provides online access to view support entitlements, manage release notification profiles, and download available new software updates as they are available. Customers with a software support agreement can: 1. Register with the ITRC at http://www.itrc.hp.com to obtain an ITRC User ID. This step is performed once per user. 2. Link support agreements to an ITRC User ID at http://www.itrc.hp.com/service/entitlements/linkSupportAgreement.do The System Handle(s) or SAID (Service Agreement Identifier), as identified in support agreements is required. This step is performed once per support agreement. 3. Navigate to "software update manager" at http://www.itrc.hp.com/service/sum/home.do to manage the software updates for the support agreements linked to your ITRC user ID. Although software, FabricWare, and SAN-OS images will continue to be located on http://www.hp.com for a limited period of time, HP SUM will be the preferred method for obtaining updates, and will eventually be the only method. Consult the appropriate Cisco MDS release notes for instructions on how to determine the current SAN-OS or FabricWare version on your switch. HP strongly recommends upgrading all fabric switches to the latest supported SAN-OS and FabricWare versions. All switches in the SAN must be running the same version of SAN-OS in order to maintain a consistent version throughout the SAN. For new SAN-OS and FabricWare features, switch limitations, and caveats, refer to the Cisco MDS 9000 Family Release Notes and Cisco MDS 9020 Fabric Switch Release Notes. Software, FabricWare, and SAN-OS Updates
Customers can now receive updates faster and more efficiently via electronic download by using
