Lighter/Darker Use Lighter/Darker to adjust the lightness and darkness of the copies you make. To do so: 1 Press Lighter/Darker. The range of values appears as a circle on a scale on the display. 2 Press the minus (-) or plus (+) button to make the copy lighter or darker. The circle moves to the left or right, depending on the button you press. 3 Press Select/Resume to confirm your selection. Color Intensity Use Color Intensity to make colors on your copy more vivid or more subtle. To do so: 1 Press Color Intensity. The range of color intensity values appears as a circle on a scale on the front-panel display. 2 Press the minus (-) or plus (+) button to make the colors more subtle or intense. The circle moves to the left or right, depending on the button you press. 3 Press Select/Resume to confirm your selection. Menu With the Menu button, you can change some additional copy settings.You can also change some default settings of the HP Color Copier that are not related to copying. To change settings using the menu commands, do the following: 1 Press Menu repeatedly to scroll through the list of available commands. 2 After the command you want to change appears on the display, press either minus (-), plus (+) or Select/Resume to choose it. For more information about changing specific menu commands, see "Changing Copy Settings Using the Menu Commands" and "Changing Default Settings" later in this chapter. 4-6 Copying

Step 1 — Unpack Your HPColor Copier	9
1 Remove the cardboard tray containing the accessory items.	9
2 Rest the box on its side, and pull out your HPColor Copier.	9
3 Verify that the following items are included with your HPColor Copier:	10
a Power supply (AC/DC adapter) with attached cord (HP part number 0950-2880)	10

c Front-panel overlay with text on it	10
d One black and one color print cartridge	10
4 Choose a location and environment for your HPColor Copier.	10

Step 2 — Attach the Front-Panel Overlay	12
1 Align the front-panel overlay with the front panel buttons.	12
2 Push straight down firmly on both ends and the middle to snap the overlay into place.	12
Step 3 — Load Paper in Your HPColor Copier	13
1 Remove the packaging materials from the HPColor Copier, if you have not already done so.	13
2 Slide the paper width and length adjusters to their outermost positions.	13
