Setting Up the Monitor Connecting the Monitor Connecting the monitor includes steps for: ■ Connecting the video input cable to the computer by using a VGA cable (provided) or a DVI-D cable (DVI-D connector on select f monitor models only; DVI-D cable not provided). ✎ You can connect the VGA cable, the DVI-D cable (not provided), or both. Only one cable is connected for typical installations. The DVI-D connector on the f monitor (select models only) is for digital-to-digital connection only. Your computer must have a DVI-compatible graphics card installed for use with this cable. ■ Connecting the audio cable. The f monitor steps include connecting the speaker DC power cable and an optional HP subwoofer (not provided). ■ Connecting the power cord. Refer to the figure for your monitor type in the illustrations that follow. Ä CAUTION: Before connecting the monitor cables, turn off and unplug the computer and the monitor. Connecting the Monitor Video Input Cable Be sure the computer and monitor are off and unplugged. To Connect the VGA Cable ■ Connect the VGA video cable to the monitor and to the video connector on the rear panel of the computer: ❏ Connect one end of the 15-pin VGA cable (provided) to the VGA input connector on the monitor 1 (as shown in the following illustrations). Connecting the Monitor
Connecting the monitor includes steps for:
Connecting the video input cable to the computer by using a

To Connect the VGA Cable
Connect the VGA video cable to the monitor and to the video
connector on the rear panel of the computer:
Connect one end of the 15-pin VGA cable (provided) to
the VGA input connector on the monitor
