Inventory Check your monitor box for the following items: ■ Monitor ■ Monitor power cord ■ Two speakers ■ Power adapter for speakers ■ Power adapter power cord (one-piece or alternate two-piece) ■ Documentation (including this guide) For Your Safety For your safety and the protection of your monitor, follow these procedures: ■ Always connect the monitor to a grounded, three-prong power outlet. Use only the factorysupplied power cord. If the power cord is lost or damaged, you should purchase a power cord that is approved for use in your country/region. 2 HP Pavilion MX703/M703 Monitor Guide Warning: To completely disconnect power from the monitor, you must remove the power cable from the power socket. ■ To prevent electrical shock, do not remove the back cover of the monitor. Only qualified service personnel should remove the cover. ■ Do not place objects on top of the monitor that could fall into the vents or block airflow. ■ To avoid the risk of damage to the monitor and electrical shock to yourself, do not expose the monitor to rain or moisture. ■ Adjust only those controls with operations that are covered in this manual. Improperly adjusting other controls can result in damage and could require repair by a service technician.
