HP Factory-Installed Operating System Software for Microsoft® Small Business Server 2000 Installation Card IMPORTANT: Do not install the Microsoft® Small Business Server 2000 components until the Microsoft Windows® 2000 operating system installation is complete and all HP installation scripts have been run. This card provides supplemental instructions for completing the installation of the Small Business Server 2000 components. Note the following recommendations before beginning the software installation: · HP recommends that at least 512 MB of RAM be installed on your server. · Be sure that the video resolution has been set to a minimum of 800 × 600. This will ensure that all installation screens can be viewed properly. · Be sure that at least one network interface controller (NIC) has a static IP address assigned to it. Small Business Server 2000 Installation IMPORTANT: Service Pack 3 is integrated into the factory-installed Windows 2000 operating system. Service Pack 3 is required for Small Business Server 2000 to function properly. To install the Small Business Server 2000 components: 1. Use the instructions in the HP Factory-Installed Operating System Software for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server User Guide to install the Windows 2000 operating system and configure your server. 2. After completing the operating system installation, insert the Microsoft Small Business Server 2000-Disk 1 CD into the CD-ROM drive. 3. Select Set Up Small Business Server when prompted. 4. Complete the Small Business Server 2000 installation. During the Small Business Server 2000 installation, refer to the section of the Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 Planning and Installation guide about upgrading to Small Business Server 2000. © 2003 Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
