3 Using the infrared port The computer is IrDA compliant-4 megabits per second (Mbps) standard-and can communicate with another infrared-equipped device that is also IrDA compliant. The infrared port supports both low-speed connections of up to 115 kilobits per second (Kbps) and highspeed connections of up to 4 Mbps. Infrared performance may vary, depending on the performance of infrared peripherals, distance between infrared devices, and applications used. Infrared signals are sent through an invisible beam of infrared light and require an unobstructed line-ofsight path. ENWW 5

Using the infrared port
