Some countries/regions, states, or provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. The above warranty is transferable upon sale except regarding the Technical phone assistance warranty, which is available to the original owner of the HP product only and is not transferable. Customer Responsibilities You may be required to run HP-supplied diagnostic programs before a replacement part is shipped, a Send-in repair is scheduled, or Carry-in service is provided. For Send-in repair, you must ship your computer to the HP Central Repair Center. For Carry-in service, you must take your computer to an HP Pavilion authorized service provider. You are responsible for the security of your proprietary and confidential information and for maintaining a procedure external to the products for reconstruction of lost or altered files, data, or programs. You should back up all data on your system before calling the HP Customer Care Center. Before obtaining warranty repair service, the customer is responsible for removing any components that were added after the purchase of the system. HP will not be responsible for components that the customer doesn't remove. For In-home service, you must provide: access to the product; adequate working space and facilities within a reasonable distance of the product; access to and use of all information and facilities determined necessary by HP to service the product; and operating supplies and consumables such as you would use during normal operation. When service is being performed in-home, you or your representative, 18 years of age or older, must be present at all times. You must state if the product is being used in an environment which poses a potential health hazard to repair personnel; HP may require that the product be maintained by customer personnel under direct HP supervision. HP may also refuse to provide In-home service in special circumstances and will provide an alternative repair method such as selfrepair or Send-in repair. Obtaining Hardware Warranty Repair Service For the duration of the hardware parts and labor warranty, repair service includes Consumerreplaceable Parts service and In-home, Carry-in, or Send-in service (depending on your location) as described below. To obtain hardware warranty service, call the HP Customer Care Center toll-free at 1-877-439-9509 in the U.S. You must be prepared to supply proof-of-purchase date. Consumer-Replaceable Parts Service (self-repair) Consumer-replaceable components - such as the keyboard, mouse, and monitor - may be serviced through expedited part shipment. In this event, HP will send you the component. Send-In Repair Service Service can be obtained by shipping your PC to the HP Central Repair Center. The PC will be repaired and returned to you. Carry-In Repair Service Service can be obtained by bringing your PC to an HP Pavilion authorized service provider. In-Home Repair Service In-home service for this product is restricted or unavailable in certain locations. In HP Excluded Travel Areas - areas where geographical obstacles, underdeveloped roads, or unsuitable public transportation prohibit routine travel - service is provided on a negotiated basis at extra charge. In-home service is warranted within 300 miles (approximately 480 km) from the nearest HP Pavilion authorized service provider, and negotiated beyond that distance. In-home visits caused by non-Hewlett-Packard products - whether internal or external to the system processor unit - are subject to standard per-incident travel and labor charges.
