● Processor (see Processor on page 41) Remove the system board: 1. Disconnect all cables from the system board, and make note of their locations for installation. 2. Remove the seven Torx screws that secure the system board to the computer. 3. Lift the front of the system board (1), and then remove it from the computer (2). To install the system board, reverse the removal procedures. NOTE: When replacing the system board, you must change the chassis serial number in the BIOS. When replacing the system board, you must reprogram the SMBIOS information about the affected computer. Failure to reprogram the board will result in eventual failure, such as an activation failure (when you would have to reactivate the computer) or a system recovery failure.
