Recommended operating environment To help ensure continued safe and reliable equipment operation, install or position the rack in a well ventilated, climate-controlled environment. Air inlet temperature to the rack should be between 20 to 25ºC under normal operating conditions in the data center, per ASHRAE standard TG9 HDEC. Derate maximum dry bulb temperature 1ºC/300 m above 900 m. 3 The values in each row meet or exceed the stated industry equivalent class specifications. 4 With installed media, the minimum temperature is 10ºC and maximum relative humidity is limited to 80%. Specific media requirements may vary. 5 Allowable: equipment design extremes as measured at the equipment inlet. 6 Recommended: target facility design and operational range. 7 Must be noncondensing environment. 8 Local product groups must make business decisions for the appropriate values. The operating temperature inside the rack is always higher than the room temperature and is dependent on the configuration of equipment in the rack. Check the TMRA for each piece of equipment before installation. CAUTION: To reduce the risk of damage to the equipment when installing third-party options: • Do not permit optional equipment to impede airflow around the enclosure or to increase the internal rack temperature beyond the maximum allowable limits. • Do not exceed the manufacturer's TMRA.
