Fine-grained Privileges Starting HP-UX 11i v3, HP DLPI allows enabling and disabling of promiscuous mode only for users with PRIV_NETPROMISCUOUS privilege. For more information on the fine-grained privileges, see "Fine-grained Privileges" on page 17. DL_PROMISCOFF_REQ This primitive requests the DLS Provider to disable promiscuous mode on a per Stream basis, either at the physical level or at the SAP level. DLS User cannot disable a promiscuous mode without enabling it. Format The message consists of one M_PROTO message block, which contains the following structure. typedef struct { ulong dl_primitive; ulong dl_level; } dl_promiscoff_req_t; Parameters dl_primitive DL_PROMISCOFF_REQ dl_level indicates promiscuous mode at the physical or SAP level. DL_PROMISC_PHYS Before or after the STREAM has been bound, the DLPI user receives all traffic on the wire regardless of protocol or physical address. DL_PROMISC_SAP 87
