PLEASE READ AND SAVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using the appliance. 2. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet. 3. Keep the cord out of heavy traffic areas. To avoid fire hazard, NEVER put the cord under rugs or near heat registers. 4. DO NOT place humidifier near heat sources such as stoves, radiators, and heaters. DO locate your humidifier on an inside wall near an electrical outlet. The humidifier should be at least 4 inches (10 cm) away from the wall for best results. 5. NEVER place humidifier in an area where it is accessible to children. NEVER use humidifier in a closed room, particularly where a child may be sleeping, resting, or playing (a closed room may result in excessive humidity). 6. WARNING: Do not attempt to refill humidifier without first unplugging the unit from its electrical outlet. Failure to heed this warning may cause personal injury. Be sure to unplug the unit by pulling on the plug and not the cord. 7. Never place anything over moisture outlet when the unit is running. 8. NEVER drop or insert any object into any openings. 9. DO NOT operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, after the appliance malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to manufacturer for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. 10. Use appliance only for intended household use as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the manufacturer may cause hazards. 11. DO NOT use outdoors. 12. Always place humidifier on a firm, flat, level surface. A waterproof mat or pad is recommended for use under the humidifier. NEVER place it on a rug or carpet, or on a finished floor that may be damaged by exposure to water or moisture. 13. DO NOT allow the Moisture Outlet to directly face the wall. Moisture could cause damage, particularly to wall paper. 14. Humidifier should be unplugged when not in use. 15. NEVER tilt, move, or attempt to empty unit while it is operating. Shut off and unplug before removing the water tank and moving the unit. 16. This humidifier requires daily and weekly maintenance to operate appropriately. Refer to daily and weekly cleaning procedures. Use only cleaners and additives recommended by the manufacturer. 17. NEVER use detergents, gasoline, glass cleaner, furniture polish, paint thinner, or other household solvents to clean any part of the humidifier. 18. Excessive humidity in a room can cause water condensation on windows and some furniture. If this happens, turn the humidifier OFF. 19. Do not use humidifier in an area where humidity level is in excess of 50%. Use a hygrometer, available at your local retailer or through the manufacturer, to measure the humidity. 20. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user serviceable parts. All servicing should be performed by qualified personnel only. THIS APPLIANCE HAS A POLARIZED PLUG (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THIS PLUG OR DEFEAT THIS SAFETY FEATURE IN ANY WAY. FEATURES - OPERATIONS 21. Never place housing under water flow or immerse in liquids. 22. Do not plug in the cord with wet hands: electric shock could result. 23. Do not pour water in any openings other than the water tank. 24. To prevent damage to surfaces, do not place humidifier under overhanging surfaces. 25. NEVER operate unit without water in the tank. 26. Do not move unit after it has been used until unit cools completely. 27. Use both hands when carrying full tank of water. NOTE: If moisture forms on the walls or windows of the room, turn off the humidifier. The room already has plenty of humidity and additional moisture may cause damage. NOTE: DO NOT block air inlet or outlet. Cord and Plug Installation Safety Instructions: The length of cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in, or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the humidifier (refer to the rating information placed on the humidifier). Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over. FCC STATEMENT Potential for Radio/Television interference This device complies with Part 18 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This product has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 18 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. The product generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that the interference will not occur in a particular installation. If the product does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the product on or off, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the product and the receiver. • Connect the product into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. HOW ULTRASONIC WORKS: An ultrasonic transducer atomizes water, producing refreshing visible cool or warm mist. The temperature of warm mist is between 104 ˚F - 122 ˚F. NOTE: A humidity level below 20% can be unhealthy and uncomfortable. The humidifier should be placed in a normal temperature environment 41 ˚F - 104 ˚F, otherwise, the humidifier may be destroyed in the cold environment. Be sure the humidifier is switched OFF and the unit is disconnected from the electrical outlet. 2. Select a location for your humidifier, on a flat surface, about 4 inches (10 cm) away from the wall. DO NOT place the humidifier on a finished floor or near furniture, which can be damaged by too much moisture or water. Place on a moisture resistant surface. FILLING THE WATER TANK 1. Remove the tank from the main housing. 2. Bring the tank to the sink, turn upside down and twist off the tank cap by turning counter clockwise. Fill tank with cool, fresh tap water. DO NOT fill with warm water as this may cause leaking. Replace the cap on tank FIRMLY. 3. Place tank back into the humidifier housing. The tank will immediately begin to empty into the base. There will be "gurgling" sound and air bubbles appear in the tank. It takes about 2-5 minutes for air bubbles to disappear and the humidifier is then ready to generate mist. 4. Plug the humidifier into a 120V electrical outlet. There will be a "beep" sound to indicate that the humidifier is ready at Standby mode. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS All functions can be operated by a finger touch onto the corresponding icons on the Touchscreen. NOTE: Do not press the Touchscreen hard, instead press softer and longer to activate the desired function. Power On/Off Press the Power Button to turn the humidifier on, the Digital Display shows the Room Relative Humidity Level. The humidifier will run at Medium setting and the Tank Light will illuminate. Press the Power Button to manually turn off the humidifier at any setting. Tank Light Your humidifier is equipped with a Tank Light which allows you to see the tank in the dark. Press the Light ( ) Button to switch the Tank Light on or off. The Tank Light will sparkle when the tank is empty. Cool/Warm Mist Control Your humidifier can be selected to generate either cool mist or warm mist by pressing the Cool/Warm Mist Control Button. Each press of the button will switch between cool (BLUE indicator) or warm (RED indicator). You can also turn the Mist Nozzle in multiple directions to achieve your desired direction for mist output. FEATURES - OPERATIONS Digital Humidistat Control Your humidifier is equipped with a digital humidistat that allows you to set your humidifier to your desired comfort level by pressing the Set Button on the control panel to switch into Humidity Mode. The Humidity Mode Indicator will blink and then illuminate. To preset a precise comfort level, press the Up (+) & Down (-). Buttons to adjust the humidity level ranging from 70% to 30%. The Digital Display will show the selected humidity level for 3 seconds and then change back to show the room humidity. When the room humidity level rises above the set humidity, the humidifier will stop. When the room humidity level drops below the set humidity, the humidifier will turn on automatically to maintain the preset humidity level. NOTE: To shut the humidifier off at any setting, press the Power Icon ( ). The humidistat has memory. This means that when you turn the unit back on, it will be at the last humidity setting before the humidifier is turned off. However, if the humidifier is unplugged, the digital humidistat will no longer remember the previous humidity setting. You will need to reset the digital humidistat if the humidifier is unplugged. Continuous Humidity Mode If you do not want the humidifier to cycle on and off for achieving the preset humidity level, you may run the humidifier at continuous mode by pressing the Up (+) Button after the humidity setting reaches 70%, and "CO" will appear on the Digital Display to indicate that continuous mode is activated. Humidifying Capacity Settings: You may press the Up (+) & Down (-) Buttons only to select from 3 levels of humidifying runtime: LOW (lower end of the Progressive Humidifying Setting Indicator will illuminate): Humidifying capacity running over 3.38oz (100ml) per hour. MED (middle range of the Progressive Humidifying Setting Indicator will illuminate): Humidifying capacity running over 6.76oz (200ml) per hour. HIGH (upper end of the Progressive Humidifying Setting Indicator will illuminate): Humidifying capacity running over 10.14oz (300ml) per hour. WARNING: DO NOT move the humidifier with water in the tank or the humidifier base. The moving action of the water may activate the water tank's release nozzle and overfill the humidifier base. This may cause the humidifier to function intermittently, or stop emitting mist. Should this occurs, simply remove the excess water from the humidifier base. NOTES: • High setting will produce the maximum moisture level and Low setting will produce the longest run time and quieter performance. • When the humidifier runs out of water, the transducer and fan will automatically shut off. Timer Mode Your humidifier is equipped with 12-Hour Auto Shut-off Timer feature. This allows you to program your humidifier to shut off automatically after running a defined time interval. 1. Press the Set Button twice, the Timer Mode Indicator will blink. 2. Press the Up (+) & Down (-) Buttons to adjust from 0 to 12 to select your desired time interval for the humidifier to shut-off automatically. 3. The selected hour will appear on the Digital Display and then return to show the Room Humidity. 4. To cancel the Timer feature, Press the Up & Down Buttons to 0 hours. The Timer will then be cancelled. Tank Empty Reminder Once the tank is empty, the humidifier will beep for 10 times, and all indicators on the control panel will go off. The Tank Light will keep blinking until the tank is refilled. Press the Power On/Off Button to turn off your humidifier and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Before refilling, empty any residual water from the base and the tank (follow the daily maintenance instructions). Then follow the Filling Instructions to refill the tank and put back into the humidifier to begin operation in 10 seconds. CLEANING / MAINTENANCE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Humidifiers provide comfort by adding moisture to dry, heated indoor air. To benefit most from the humidifier and avoid product misuse, follow all instructions carefully. Please note that this is an electrical appliance and requires attention when in use. In addition, if you do not follow the recommended care and maintenance guidelines, micro-organisms may be able to grow in the water within the water tank. You must routinely follow the cleaning procedures that follow in order to ensure proper, efficient operation of your humidifier. Proper maintenance and cleaning is essential to the continued performance of your unit and the avoidance of algae or bacteria build-up. Daily Maintenance: 1. Be sure the unit is OFF and is disconnected from the electrical outlet. 2. Remove the tank from the humidifier and place in sink or tub. 3. Carry the humidifier housing to the sink, lift up the rubber valve (see Figure 3) so the remaining water can be drained away through the hole at the bottom of the base. Wipe clean, and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. the base. Weekly Maintenance: 1. Repeat previous steps in Daily Maintenance. 2. Clean the base by partially filling the base with one 8-oz cups of undiluted white vinegar, or by using cleaning solution (model S1710). Leave this solution in the base for 20 minutes, while cleaning all the interior surfaces with a soft brush (brush included - see Figure 3 for location of brush inside the humidifier housing). Gently scrub the area around the transducer with the soft brush (the transducer is located inside the door gate, you must lift up the door gate to access the transducer - see Figure 4). Remove base scale by wiping the base with a cloth dampened with undiluted white vinegar. Figure 4 Brush Door Gate Figure 3 Brush Door Gate Rubber Valve 4. Drain the water from the tank into the sink and rinse tank thoroughly. Wipe clean, and dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. 5. Refill tank with cool tap water as instructed earlier in the Filling Instructions. Do not overfill. 6. Follow Operating Instructions to turn on the humidifier. NOTE: Before operations of the humidifier, ensure the rubber valve is in place to cover the hole at the bottom of NOTE: After cleaning of the transducer, ensure to close the Door Gate before re-start operations of the humidifier. 3. Rinse with clean warm water to remove the cleaning solution before disinfecting the tank. To Disinfect Humidifier Base and Tank: 1. Fill humidifier tank 1/2 full with water and 1/2 tablespoon of chlorine bleach. 2. Let the solution stand for 20 minutes, swishing every few minutes. Wet all surfaces. 3. Carefully empty the tank after 20 minutes, and rinse with warm water until you cannot detect any bleach smell. Dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. 4. Refill the water tank with cool water and replace on housing (see Filling Instructions above). Follow Operating Instructions to turn the humidifier ON. La humedad puede causar daños, especialmente al empapelado. 14. Se debe desenchufar el humidificador cuando no se usa. 15. NUNCA incline, mueva o intente vaciar la unidad mientras esté funcionando. Apague y desenchufe la unidad antes de quitar el tanque de agua y moverla. 16. Este humidificador requiere mantenimiento diario y semanal para funcionar correctamente. Visor digital (Humedad y Temporizador) CÓMO FUNCIONA ULTRASONIC: Un transductor ultrasónico atomiza el agua y produce un visible y refrescante vapor frío o caliente. La temperatura del vapor caliente se encuentra entre los 104 ˚F (40 °C) y los 122 ˚F (50 °C). NOTA: un nivel de humedad por debajo del 20% puede resultar poco saludable e incómodo. El humidificador debe ubicarse en un ambiente con una temperatura normal entre 41 ˚F (5 °C) y 104 ˚F (40 °C); de lo contrario, el humidificador podría dañarse en un ambiente frío. El nivel de humedad recomendado se encuentra entre 40% y 50%. INSTRUCCIONES PREVIAS AL USO 1. Asegúrese de que el humidificador esté en OFF (Apagado) y desenchúfelo del tomacorriente. 2. Elija un lugar para su humidificador, en una superficie plana, aproximadamente a 4 pulgadas de distancia de la pared. NO coloque el humidificador sobre un piso pulido o cerca de algún mueble, ya que lo puede dañar por el exceso de humedad o agua. Colóquelo sobre una superficie resistente a la humedad. LLENADO DEL TANQUE DE AGUA 1. Saque el tanque de la carcasa principal. 2. Acerque el tanque a la pileta, colóquelo dado vuelta y quite el tapón del tanque girando en sentido contrario de las agujas del reloj. Llene el tanque con agua fresca de la canilla de agua fría. NO lo llene con agua tibia porque esto puede ocasionar pérdidas. Vuelva a colocar el tapón del tanque y asegúrese de que esté FIRME. 3. Coloque nuevamente el tanque en la carcasa del humidificador. El tanque comenzará inmediatamente a vaciar su contenido en la base. Se producirá un sonido de "burbujeo" y aparecerán burbujas de aire en el tanque. Las burbujas de aire desaparecerán en aproximadamente 2 a 5 minutos y entonces el humidificador estará listo para producir vapor. 4. Enchufe el humidificador a un tomacorriente de 120V. Se escuchará un "pitido" que indicará que el humidificador está listo en modo Standby. INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO Todas las funciones pueden accionarse con un toque sobre los correspondientes íconos en la pantalla táctil. Encendido/Apagado Presione el botón Encendido para encender el humidificador y el Visor Digital mostrará el nivel de humedad relativa de la habitación. El humidificador funcionará en configuración Media y se encenderá la luz del tanque. Presione el botón Encendido para apagar el humidificador de manera manual cualquiera sea la configuración. Luz del tanque Su humidificador está equipado con una luz de tanque que le permite verlo en la oscuridad. Presione el botón Luz ( ) para encender o apagar la luz del tanque. La luz del tanque parpadeará cuando el tanque esté vacío. Control de vapor frío/ caliente En su humidificador se puede seleccionar la temperatura del vapor presionando el botón de Control de vapor frío/ caliente. Cuando se presione el botón cambiará de frío (indicador AZUL) a caliente (indicador ROJO). Además puede girar la boquilla del vapor en varias direcciones para lograr la orientación deseada de salida del vapor. Control del medidor de humedad digital El humidificador está equipado con un medidor de humedad digital que le permite configurarlo según el nivel de confort deseado; para esto, presione el botón de Configuración en el panel de control para cambiar al modo Humedad. El indicador de modo Humedad parpadeará y luego se encenderá. Para configurar previamente un nivel preciso de comodidad, presione Arriba (+) y Abajo (-). Los botones para ajustar el nivel de humedad van del 70% al 30%. El visor digital mostrará el nivel de humedad seleccionado durante 3 segundos y luego volverá a mostrar la humedad de la habitación. Cuando el nivel de humedad del ambiente ascienda por encima de la humedad establecida, el humidificador se detendrá. Cuando la humedad del ambiente descienda por debajo de la humedad configurada, el humidificador volverá a funcionar automáticamente para mantener el nivel de humedad configurado previamente. NOTA: para apagar el humidificador en cualquier configuración, presione el ícono Encendido ( ). El medidor de humedad tiene memoria. Esto significa que cuando lo vuelva a encender, la unidad estará en la última configuración de humedad que tenía antes de que se apagara el humidificador. Sin embargo, si el humidificador está desenchufado, el medidor de humedad digital ya no recordará la configuración de humedad previa. Será necesario que reinicie el medidor de humedad digital si el humidificador está desenchufado. Modo Humedad Continua Si no desea estar encendiendo y apagando el humidificador para alcanzar el nivel configurado previamente, puede usarlo en modo continuo; para esto, presione el botón Arriba (+) después de que la configuración de humedad alcance el 70% y aparecerá "CO" en el visor digital para indicar que se ha activado el modo continuo. Configuraciones de capacidad de humidificación: Puede presionar los botones Arriba (+) y Abajo (-) para seleccionar sólo entre 3 niveles de tiempo de operación de humidificación: BAJA (el extremo inferior del Indicador de Configuración para humidificación progresiva se encenderá): la capacidad de humidificación es de más de 3,38 oz (100 ml) por hora. MED (la zona media del Indicador de Configuración para humidificación progresiva se encenderá): la capacidad de humidificación es de más de 6,76 oz (200 ml) por hora. ALTA (el extremo superior del Indicador de Configuración para humidificación progresiva se encenderá): la capacidad de humidificación es de más de 10,14 oz (300 ml) por hora. ADVERTENCIA: NO mueva el humidificador cuando tenga agua en el tanque o en la base. La acción de movimiento podría activar la boquilla de descarga del tanque de agua y saturar la base del humidificador. Si esto sucediera, el humidificador funcionaría intermitentemente y dejaría de emitir vapor. En este caso, simplemente elimine el exceso de agua de la base del humidificador. NOTAS: • La configuración Alta producirá el nivel de humedad máximo y la configuración Baja producirá un tiempo CARACTERISTICA - FUNCIONAMIENTO LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO de funcionamiento más prolongado y una operación más silenciosa. • Cuando el humidificador se quede sin agua, el transductor y el ventilador se apagarán automáticamente. Modo Temporizador Su humidificador está equipado con una función de Temporizador para apagado automático de 12 horas. Esto le permite programar su humidificador para que se apague automáticamente después de que funcione durante un determinado lapso de tiempo. 1. Presione dos veces el botón Configuración; el indicador de modo Temporizador parpadeará. 2. Presione los botones Arriba (+) y Abajo (-) para ajustar de 0 a 12 y así seleccionar el tiempo deseado para que el humidificador se apague automáticamente. 3. La hora seleccionada aparecerá en el visor digital y luego volverá a mostrar la humedad de la habitación. 4. Para eliminar la función Temporizador, presione los botones Arriba y Abajo hasta 0 hora. Entonces, el Temporizador no funcionará. Aviso de tanque vacío Una vez que el tanque esté vacío, el humidificador emitirá un pitido diez veces y todos los indicadores en el panel de control se apagarán. La luz del tanque seguirá parpadeando hasta que el tanque se llene nuevamente. Presione el botón Encendido/ Apagado ara apagar el humidificador y desconéctelo del tomacorriente. Antes de llenarlo nuevamente, vacíe el tanque y la base de todo resto de agua siga las instrucciones de mantenimiento diario. Luego, siga las instrucciones de llenado para volver a cargar el tanque y colóquelo nuevamente en el humidificador para que comience a funcionar en 10 segundos. INSTRUCCIONES DE LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO Los humidificadores proveen confort agregando humedad al aire seco de los ambientes interiores calefaccionados. Para beneficiarse al máximo de los humidificadores y evitar su mal uso, siga todas las instrucciones cuidadosamente. Tenga en cuenta que éste es un artefacto eléctrico que requiere atención cuando esté en uso. Además, si no se siguen las recomendaciones para el cuidado y mantenimiento, crecerán microorganismos en el agua dentro de los tanques. Se deben ejecutar rutinariamente los procedimientos de limpieza que se indican a continuación para asegurar el funcionamiento adecuado y eficiente del humidificador que son esenciales para el rendimiento óptimo constante de la unidad y para evitar la formación de algas y bacterias. Mantenimiento diario : 1. Asegúrese de apagar y desenchufar la unidad del tomacorriente. 2. Desmonte el casco y los tanques del humidificador y colóquelos en el fregadero o en la tina. 3. Lleve la carcasa del humidificador a la pileta, levante la válvula de goma (vea Figura 3) para que el resto de agua pueda salir a través del orificio que se encuentra en el fondo de la base. Seque con un trapo limpio o una toalla de papel. Figure 3 Cepillo Puerta Válvula de goma 4. Drene el agua de los tanques en el fregadero y enjuáguelos completamente. Límpielos frotando con un paño y séquelos con una toalla de tela o de papel. 5. El caso y vuelva a llenar el tanque con agua corriente como se indicó anteriormente en las instrucciones para el llenado. No lo llene de más. 6.
