3 BASIC OPERATION ■ Output power level selection 1 If the transceiver has [High/Low] assigned to it, the transmit output 2 power level can be selected, depending on the presetting. 3 When the battery case is selected as the battery type, or the bat- tery voltage drops to a low power level and the LED indicator sta- 4 tus is "Low Battery 2," the output power automatically switches to 5 "Low 1." (pp. 7, 12) ➥ Push [High/Low] to select the transmit output power level. 6 • 1 beep sounds when "Low 1" is selected. 7 • 2 beeps sound when "Low 2" is selected. • 3 beeps sound when "High" is selected. 8 9 ■ Priority A channel selection 10 Depending on the presetting, the Priority A channel is selected each time the transceiver power is turned ON. 11 12 ■ MDC 1200 system operation 13 The MDC 1200 signaling system enhances your transceiver's capa- 14 bilities. The transceiver will send an Emergency 18 MDC 1200 system command once, or repeatedly for a programmed 19 number of times until it receives the acknowledgement signal. 20 The emergency call can be transmitted without a beep sound de- pending on how the emergency function is programmed. Ask your dealer for details. 20
