IN-FRKF003.book Page 7 Wednesday, January 26, 2005 2:28 PM IN-FRKF003 GMRS/FRS Radio Charging the batteries Your IN-FRKF003 is equipped to allow using the included rechargeable NiMH battery pack which can be recharged by the included A/C charger/adaptor through the radio's MIC jack, or by using the included desktop charger. Batteries must be charged when the low battery icon flashes on the display. Do not charge alkaline batteries of any kind in the unit. To charge through the MIC Jack: 1 Connect the AC adaptor/charger into an A/C wall outlet. 2 Insert the adaptor/charger jack into the radio's MIC jack found on the side of the unit. To charge through a desktop charger: 1 Connect the AC adaptor into an A/C wall outlet. 2 Insert the adaptor jack into the desktop charger jack. 3 Place the units into the desktop charger slot and note that the LED indicator of the desktop charger lights up to indicate charging function. Note: • Only use batteries indicated in this manual. • Do not attempt to charge alkaline batteries or any batteries or battery packs other than the one indicated in the manual. This may cause leakage and damage the unit. • For long term storage of the radio, turn the unit OFF and remove the batteries from the radio. www.Insignia-Products.com 7
