Table 11 lists the BIOS error messages and a brief description of each. Table 11. BIOS Error Messages Error Message CMOS Battery Low CMOS Checksum Bad Memory Size Decreased No Boot Device Available Explanation The battery may be losing power. The CMOS checksum is incorrect. The CMOS memory may have been corrupted. Run Setup to reset values. Memory size has decreased since the last boot. If no memory was removed, then memory may be bad. System did not find a device to boot. 46

BIOS Error Messages
Whenever a recoverable error occurs during POST, the BIOS displays an error

Explanation
CMOS Battery Low
The battery may be losing power.
CMOS Checksum Bad
The CMOS checksum is incorrect.
The CMOS memory
may have been corrupted.
Run Setup to reset values.
Memory Size Decreased
Memory size has decreased since the last boot.
If no
memory was removed, then memory may be bad.
No Boot Device Available
System did not find a device to boot.
