9 User Login You can use User Login to limit printing privileges to specified users for secure printing and accounting. The number of pages printed by each user is tracked by the printing system. User Login must be set to On at the printing system. A maximum of 1000 User Login names and passwords can be assigned at the printing system. In the driver, you can use User Login or Job Accounting, not both. Printing with User Login After User Login names are assigned and User Login is set to On at the printing system, you can print in user login mode. 1 Open the document you want to print and choose File > Print. If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle beside the Printer pop-up menu. 2 Choose User Login from the print options pop-up menu. 3 Select the User Login checkbox. 4 Select Use Specific Name and type a name and password, or select Prompt for Name. 5 Click Print. 6 If Prompt for Name was selected, type a name and password when prompted. 9-1
