ENGLISH WARNING! Never place a television set in an unstable location. A television set may fall, causing serious personal injury or death. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided by taking simple precautions such as: yyUsing cabinets or stands recommended by the manufacturer of the television set. yyOnly using furniture that can safely support the television set. yyEnsuring the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture. yyNot placing the television set on tall furniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) without anchoring both the furniture and the television set to a suitable support. yyNot placing the television set on cloth or other materials that may be located between the television set and supporting furniture. yyEducating children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television set or its controls. Service Unplug the monitor from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel when: yyThe power cord or plug is damaged or frayed. yyLiquid has been spilled into the monitor. yyThe monitor has been exposed to rain or water. yyThe monitor does not operate normally following the operating instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered in the operating instructions. An improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage and often requires extensive work by a qualified technician to restore the monitor to normal operation. yyThe monitor has been dropped or the cabinet has been damaged. yyThe monitor exhibits a distinct change in performance. yySnapping or popping from the monitor is continuous or frequent while the monitor is operating. It is normal for some monitors to make occasional sounds when being turned on or off, or when changing video modes. Do not attempt to service the monitor yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. 18
