RATIO:
Adjusts picture aspect ratio.
1394:
Shows the list of connected IEEE1394 devices.
HD DVR Remote Control Key Functions
Dash (-):
Used to enter two-part sub channel numbers
such as 2-1, 2-2, etc.
VCR Plus+:
Activates the Manual Reservation feature for
recording a program. The receiver can be pro-
grammed to record once, each day, or weekly.
TV GUIDE:
Turns TV Guide On Screen System ON and OFF.
Shows schedule and program information for
all channels.
Shows local over-the-air channels information
including conventional digital channels.
Use the TV Guide On Screen system to find pro-
grams easily and conveniently and view sched-
ule and descriptive program information for the
channels.
REPEAT:
Repeats sequence during playback.
SYNOPSIS:
Activates digest view mode. Plays meaningful
scenes for 1~ 4 seconds. (Normal synopsis:
4~5 times, Fast synopsis: 7 times, Dynamic
search: 15 times normal playback speed)
SKIP (+/-):
Smart skip is a trick play mode. It searches for
dynamic scenes in either replay or skip forward
modes. Smart Skip jumps to the first scene in
the next available cluster of scenes, which is
more meaningful to viewers instead of a static
scene (anchor person scene from a news
broadcast, etc).
TIMESHIFT/BOOKMARK:
1. Activates pause live TV/playback (timeshift) for a live TV
program. You can pause, rewind, or return to live TV pro-
gram.
2. Marks any point during pause live TV/playback
(timeshift) and playback.
REW/FF:
Press REW or FF repeatedly to rewind or fast-for-
ward at 5 different speeds up to 300 times the
speed of normal playback.
CLOSED CAPTION:
Turns closed captioning on and off.
SELECT:
1. Completes the channel number input and
promptly tunes to selected channel.
2. Acknowledges menu selection.
BLUE/GREEN:
Used for TV Guide On Screen System, book-
mark, etc.
1. During timeshift or normal playback, recalls the book-
mark installed with the TIMESHIFT button.
2. While in TV Mode and not playing, recording, or
timeshifting, press BLUE to tune to the first channel in
the favorite list for TV Guide On Screen System. Each
press will result in tuning to the next channel on the list.
MENU:
Accesses or removes the main menu.
DRAG (+/-):
Drag
&
play is a trick play mode. You can
move to any point on the progress bar using
these buttons. Release the button and watch
from that point.
EXIT:
Removes all on-screen displays and returns to cur-
rent TV program from any menu or removes progress
bar during playback.
PROGRAM LIST:
Shows the list of recorded programs as
thumbnails. You can select a program
and play back, delete, change its title,
view detailed information, or save to a
DVHS recorder.
STOP:
Stops playback or recording.
RECORD/EDIT:
Starts recording or editing a recorded pro-
gram.
START/END:
Moves to the start or end position of current
playback.
