Cisco EnergyWise support for the Windows 7 operating system The Cisco EnergyWise solution collaborates with Power Manager to measure, report, and reduce the energy consumption of an entire corporate infrastructure. To configure Cisco EnergyWise Deployments policies, do the following: Under Computer Configuration, click Classic Administrative Templates ➙ Administrative Templates ➙ Lenovo ThinkVantage Components ➙ Desktop Power Manager for Vista and Windows 7 ➙ EnergyWise Configuration Deployments. The following table provides the detailed information about each policy. Table 6. EnergyWise Configuration Deployments Policy settings EnergyWise Description Specifies whether to use the EnergyWise solution. Configurable options include: • Not configured • Enabled • Disabled If you enable this policy setting, the EnergyWise solution is enabled on all client computers. If you disable this policy setting, the EnergyWise solution is disabled on all client computers. Port No This setting is not supported on Windows Vista client computers. Specifies the port number used to communicate with the EnergyWise solution. Configurable options include: • Not configured • Enabled • Disabled If you enable this policy setting, you must provide a port number value. Domain Note: The default port number value is 43440. Specifies the domain name of the EnergyWise solution. Configurable options include: • Not configured • Enabled • Disabled If you enable this policy setting, you must input the domain name of the EnergyWise solution.
