4049-XXX Maintenance Kit Count This non-displayed counter must be reset after the maintenance kit is replaced to prevent the [80 Scheduled Maintenance] message from displaying when the machine is turned on. 1. Enter Diagnostics mode. 2. Select [PAGE COUNTS]. 3. Select [Maintenance Count]. 4. Select [Reset] to set the count back to "0". 5. Press Return to return to the Diagnostics mode main menu. Memory Tests 1. Enter Diagnostics mode. 2. Select HARDWARE TESTS]. 3. Select [Memory Test]. 4. Select either [DRAM] or [ROM]. 5. Select [Single] or [Continuous]. 6. The display will indicate [PASSED], or [FAILED]. 7. Select [CANCEL] to stop continuous memory test. 8. Press Return to return to Diagnostics mode main menu. Page Count To view or set the page count: 1. Enter Diagnostics mode. 2. Select [PAGE COUNTS]. 3. Select [Page Count]. 4. Choose any number between 0000000 and 9999999 by Select- ing [Next] to move the cursor under each digit. Select [+] or [-] to select the number you want in each digit. 5. Select [SAVE] to save the page count displayed. Paper Feed Tests This test allows you to observe the drive gear train and feed paper through the printer to check for broken gear teeth, watch the paper path, or check the erase lamps.You may want to remove the gear cover before starting this test so you can observe the motor gears.
